Rowan loves to eat out of his mesh feeder. It’s a great way for him to explore new fruits or soothe his gums. Banana seems to be his favorite, although he really loves mango too. It occupies him for quite awhile!
Uh-Oh! All gone!

Sunday was a special day for our family. It was Rowan’s dedication! For those of you who don’t know the difference between baptism and dedication; we believe that baptism is a choice that should be made when a person is old enough to profess salvation and their own faith. Dedication is a public proclamation that Russ and I, as his parents will raise him up to know Jesus, that we will pray for him and the church takes a stand to make the same commitment. Our church, Mars Hill is full of babies so we were one of 5 families to be on stage. Each family picked a Bible verse to read in front of the church and then our Pastor prayed over us as a group.
Russ and I picked Isaiah 12:2
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”
Rowan’s middle name is Isaiah and means “God is my Salvation” so it meant a lot to us.
Here are a couple of photos. (the ones in church are a little hard to see because of the light).
Thanks to everyone who came!! xo

I thought Rowan was a wiggly little dude before but he has REALLY started moving. The other day, Russ put him in the middle of the living room floor, left the room for one minute and he rolled over a few times, tore a page out of the Bible and was trying to eat it. Now we can’t take our eyes off of him for a minute and we have to get serious about baby proofing. Not sure when he’ll crawl but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s sooner than later since he’s already getting up on hands and knees. My recent post documented his first time eating solids and he’s been loving it. He’s only had oatmeal cereal and sweet potatoes but tonight I’m making squash. It’s just so fun to watch him explore and discover everything around him. I love his big smile and how he flaps his arms and bounces when he’s excited. He’s full of energy and we just love him to pieces. Happy half birthday little man!
*I had to post a couple more..I just can’t resist!
Rowan has been blowing rasberries NON-STOP! It’s usually when he’s really excited. Last night Russ came home and Rowan did this so long his shirt was drenched! We were laughing hysterically. What a ham!
This week we decided to give Rowan his first solid food..oatmeal cereal! There’s a lot of talk about whether or not babies should have solids before 6 months and the recommendation is to wait until right around that time. We knew he was ready and we’re only a few days shy of him being 6 months. HE LOVED IT!!!!!!!!! I was actually pretty surprised. I figured that he would try and spit it out but instead he kept banging on the highchair for more. It’s fun to watch him try new things and I honestly look forward to feeding time. He’s pretty messy though, and kept trying to hold the spoon himself.
