6 Months

Russ took this picture of me on Sunday- 6 months already! I've definitely 'popped' over the last month. Today I had my appointment and everything is great. I love feeling those little kicks!

Weekend Getaway

My mom and step dad purchased a home outside of Port Angeles a couple of years ago as a weekend getaway. It is literally footsteps from the back deck to the ocean and such a great retreat from the everyday. Russ and I have loved going out there, turning off our phones and spending time walking on the beach, going for hikes and just relaxing! Of course when it was used mainly for family, it was more of a cabin but over time they have really fixed it up with wood floors, new furniture, etc.. It is now on a website for Vacation Rentals if any of you are ever interested in going out there as a family or splitting in between more than one couple or family.

So Long Smith!!

Wednesday was the last day of Smith for four or us and teaching for awhile for three of us. Val had a party at her house with these girls and another handful of former 'Smithies'. It was so much fun to see everyone! I'm really going to miss working with these ladies whom I now call my good friends. These 4 all have adorable little kiddos at home so I'm sure there will be plenty of playdates in the future (and of course continued phone calls from me for pregnancy questions and advice. Thanks girls for all of your support and friendship!!!

Project: Nursery!

I put a lot of thought into our baby room and couldn't wait to start decorating. Having things put together makes it all seem a little more real. First we had to pick out the paint. When we moved into the condo, the spare room was BRIGHT blue. We put my keyboard and computer desk in there, shut the door and hoped we wouldn't have to look at it too often. After we made room for baby we decided on blue, but a much more subtle shade. Russ spent several days carefully taping, coating the walls with stain blocker, and then painting. He has been so helpful and has done such a great job. The crib came yesterday and we put it together right away. There are still some finishing touches to be done (lamp, window valances, something on the wall) but I love how it looks. Now we just have to wait for baby!

School Baby Shower

Because I'm not returning to work in the Fall, my school threw me a baby shower before summer break. A few of my teacher friends who are mama's themselves did most of the planning and it turned out great! I just wish I took more pictures. The staff decorated onesies which was such a fun idea and they turned out pretty cute. Russ even surprised me and showed up to be a part of the fun. He brought a mini Billabong Tee to match one of his! I got a lot of really great baby loot and it was fun to go through it again when I got home. It will be fun to bring Baby Dray for a visit to Smith next year although I am super excited to be a stay at home mom.
