Park Fun!

We’ve been loving the warm weather lately and have tried to take the opportunity to check out a few new parks in the area too.

Pine Lake Park. Been coming here since I was a kid.

There’s a really cool little rock table that looks like a mini skate park. Rowan likes to bring his cars to play. 

Grasslawn park in Redmond- This place is awesome! Can’t believe I’ve never been. Lots of fun ropes, a big sandbox, and a splash area when the weather gets hotter. Rowan thought they were spider webs and loved climbing.

We went with our new friends Reagan, Brighton, Ensley, and Merritt.    First time using chalk when we got home.

Today Russ was off and we had our first picnic together (Rowan has been talking about this for weeks) so we made it really special with treats and the whole ordeal. It was also Isla’s first time on a swing.

Boy loves to climb! Little red knees from crawling around on the carpet (not sunburned!) :)

Little Block Builder

Rowan has gotten SO into building with his blocks lately. Russ can’t wait until he can do legos with him at some point. He always says, “ We gotta build a tower, we gotta build it real high.. and we need a recipe to tell us.” Lol.

Rowan and Isla’s First Bath Together

My mom was over for the afternoon and stayed late to help me give Rowan and Isla their bath. She has gotten way too big for the baby bath and we decided to put them in together. Rowan thought this was so much fun!

 

I’m pretty obsessed…

with this little dude. I know I don’t have as many posts dedicated to him these days but it’s mostly because he yells, “ No pictures Mommy!” or is running  around as fast as lightning. Is he not the cutest?!

Isla Crawling!

I posted this to FB but wanted to make sure and post here too (mostly for you Nana!!)

Isla is 8 Months Old!

This happy girl is 8 months old! At 7 months I honestly thought she’d be a super late crawler. She just didn’t seem too interested in going anywhere. It’s amazing how much happens at this age though. She is crawling a bit.. mostly backwards, but sometimes forwards! She is even pulling herself up, trying to stand and hold onto me,  and playing on her knees. I think it makes her look so grown up. She’s gotten super wiggly and I think it’s because she is ready to move. She still doesn’t have any teeth but is a bit more interested in eating. She tells me when she’s done by quickly shoving her fingers into her mouth. It’s so funny. She is entertained all the time by Rowan and is babbling a bunch!

Crawlin’ Girl!

Isla is 8 months (today!! which reminds me I need to take her monthly sticker onesie pic!) and is moving more all the time. She is still mostly going backwards and getting stuck under furniture, and very frustrated! Sometimes she’ll lunge forward so I figure it’ll be any day. Rowan started crawling across the room the day he turned 7 months, so it’s funny to see how different they are. I had to try and get some photos of her yesterday in action!

These Two…

They love each other, and it makes my heart so happy! Now of course I have to tell Rowan about 40 times a day to be careful, be gentle, don’t put your fingers in her mouth, etc… but overall it’s more that he just can’t stop trying to cuddle and play with her, instead of being mean. I remember being nervous that Rowan would be jealous and take it out on Isla. Maybe it’s a good age gap for us, but he has never really shown that type of behavior. I have caught a lot of cute moments of them on camera, and almost all are candid. So sweet!
