What’s the most fun you can imagine for a 2.5 year old boy?! TRUCKS… TRUCKS that you can climb into and pretend to drive, honk the horn, etc…
This is an annual event in Seattle and I’m SO glad we got to check it out today. Will definitely be a tradition at our house; Rowan was in heaven!
We didn’t tell him where we were going but said it was a special (“beshial” in Rowan’s vocab) surprise. He was wide eyed and saying “wow” over and over.
Wearing his sunnies checking out the crowdsRecycling Truck! This was the first one he wanted to see. SO cute how he thinks all of the drivers are like celebrities. Isla was her usual happy self. I think she was just really enamored by the crowds and noises. She didn’t really seem scared by the horns which surprised me. Behind bars! We’ve been reading this lego cartoon book and there are police and “crooks” in it. He liked to pretend to be the crook. The only downside was that there were long lines. We’ve never been in a situation like that with Rowan so he wasn’t too thrilled and didn’t understand why he couldn’t just walk up and climb in. We asked him after each truck if he’d rather just walk around though, and he said “No, I want to wait in line for that one!”
Loving the trolley! Reminds me of time in San Francisco. The EMT inside the ambulance was so sweet. She was putting the stethoscope on so he could hear the bear’s heartbeat. He thought this was very cool. And of course… FIRETRUCK! Rowan spends 90% of his day at home wearing either his construction hat or the fireman hat, so this was a real treat. Actually I’M the one who usually has to wear the fire hat. He’s relentless! And we’re done….. haha
He actually didn’t throw a fit but was just super tired. We were one of the last families to leave. He was literally the last kid on the firetruck and we got to see it drive away.
Great day and now he’s passed out at 6:30. :)
