Anyone who knows me, knows that I’ve wanted to be a mom since I was 5 years old. I always said I’d be a pediatrician when I grew up, because I wanted to work with little kids, and then when I actually DID grow up, I realized that’s a whole lot of school, and a whole lot of blood and needles. So.. I became a teacher, because again.. I love kids.
Of course, it isn’t always easy.. but I have to say, I find absolute JOY in being a mom. Everyday I look at Rowan, and seriously can’t even believe he’s mine. I really can’t. It is so much better than I could have ever imagined. And then I look down at my growing (can we say HUGE) belly, and am in awe of this little miracle and in anticipation of meeting our little girl in just 3 months.

My favorite little guy in the world!
This year I had the privilege of hosting my own mom, and grandmother for lunch. It was a beautiful, and hot day, so I made a big BBQ chicken salad. For dessert, I made some delicious chocolate coconut pecan bars, and my mom made a homemade rhubarb pie. It was nice to visit and spend the day with these two very important ladies. Rowan loves them both so much. he’s a lucky little guy.
I just had to include this photo because now that it’s actually warm enough to go barefoot, Rowan is fascinated by his. He’s always trying to pick something off of them and gets upset when he can’t get it. Guess it means I have to be even more diligent about vacuuming!
