The New Hutch

I thought you all might like to know that I actually CAN write about something other than this baby on the way (although it is pretty darn exciting!!). Russ and I made our first big Craigslist purchase a few weeks ago. Our condo doesn't have an abundance of cabinet space in the kitchen and I've been wanting a hutch. Most of these on Craigslist though are old maple and from the 70's. I was pretty stoked to find this one for only $150! It was used to stage condos for real estate. Okay...I guess the most exciting thing I can come up with is a hutch to write about. Thank God there are only 27 days left of school!

Boy or Girl?

We scheduled our appointment to find out if Baby Dray is a girl or a boy on May 21st. The poll buttons are on your left!

16 Weeks

I still don't have too much of a bump but it's comin'! I'm feeling great and hoping the second trimester "energy boost" kicks in pretty soon. Russ has been amazing, helping out a lot and listening to the weekly updates about how much this baby is growing. Right now, baby is the size of an avacado. ;) We are getting more and more excited!

We're Pregnant!!

Russ and I thought it would be fun to document my belly each month as it grows. At 3 months there isn't much to see although I must admit I can no longer button my jeans. :) From what I read the baby is now about the size of a lime. I went to my 12 week appointment last week and heard the heartbeat. The next time we see Baby is at 20 weeks when we find out if we're having a boy or a girl. Baby is due 10-10-10. How cool is that?!

Tulip Festival

On Saturday morning we took a trip to the annual Tulip Festival in Mt. Vernon with the Ranson's. We had a great time and the weather was beautiful! I haven't been since I was little and Russ has never been before. We started the day out with the biggest single scoop ice cream cones ever at Snowgoose, a stand offering locally grown fruits, veggies, and of course plenty of tulips. After admiring all of the tulips we headed over to La Connor for lunch and shopping. We had a great time.

Opposites Attract, Right?!

Anyone who knows Russ, knows about his passion for snowboarding. I have to brag a little because not only does he love it, he is A-MAZ-ING!!! His VERY first line to me (even before a hello) was, " Hey, are you a mountain girl?" when he spotted me in a Northface. We live in the Pacific Northwest and everyone has a Northface! I told him that I had only tried to board once and it wasn't the best experience. After a few months of dating, Russ decided that the way to get me enthused about heading to the mountains was to buy me a cute pink board and all of the gear. Yes- it worked. I have now been a few times and not only have I improved, I actually really like it. When I was looking through our photos though, I had to laugh. I find this picture of Russ boarding in New Zealand. It looks like something out of a magazine. I didn't even believe it was him!

Then I find the picture of me below. This was my first attempt this winter and I wasn't too happy about the fact i hadn't become a pro yet. I was mad because Russ kept trying to take my picture so I refused to look at the camera. Not my proudest moment. Did i mention it was Christmas Eve? Haha

I'm Norwegian, doesn't that mean I'm supposed to be born with these skills?

Russ Turns 28!!

Russ turned 28 on February 24th! When I asked him about going out on his birthday he said he'd rather have homemade lasagna and carrot cake instead. Is this a sign we're getting old?? A few days later though, my mom and Brian took us to McCormick and Schmicks to celebrate. Love you baby, welcome to your "late twenties"!!
