A little over the top?

I love my husband. I really do. He is pretty funny sometimes when it comes to the kids, though. He is always concerned that they are too cold!! So….when they woke up early in the morning to watch cartoons in their warm fuzzy jammies, he decided to add a couple more layers, including their puffy winter coats and a big warm blanket. Now the fire place gate is back up, so add that to the mix! I think it’s really sweet how much he cares, but it just makes me laugh. Isla got so warm she completely fell asleep and I took her to bed for a nap! (that photo was also on my phone…and my new phone makes it harder put the photos on the computer).

Halloween 2013

There’s nothing cuter than little ones all dressed up in Halloween costumes. This was the first year Rowan was SUPER excited about it. it was also great that he got to wear his costume several times this week (play group, library story time, trick-or-treating). He wanted to wear his shark costume from last year which was just fine with me! It’s so cute and warm. Isla girl had two costumes this year ( come one… I got my little girl, so I can’t help myself). She was a cupcake and a unicorn. I think she was a little unsure about the whole thing but overall, loved copying Rowan and putting things into her pumpkin bag. Our church held a “trunk or treat” event and it was the first time I had been to something like it. I was SO impressed! There were a ton of cars, all decked out with decorations and so many generous people handing out candy (even beanie babies!!) After the treats, we headed inside of the church to the gym full of bouncy houses, toys, bubbles, etc.. It was a super fun night and both kiddos were up several hours past their bed time. I actually didn’t even take photos tonight, and all the cute ones of ROwan painting pumpkins, etc…are on my phone and I don’t feel like sorting all of that out, but here are some cute ones of them dressed up.

At first she didn’t want anything to do with this hat. Then she kept bringing it up for me to put it on her!DSC_0038 Will he ever smile normal again??!!DSC_0039 DSC_0066 DSC_0068 DSC_0073 DSC_0075  Rowan was so excited about this. Russ did a great job!! Star Wars & the Pumpkin Patch!

(First of all… I am pretty behind on posting these days..and I thought about trying to go back to a few things we did in September but I think I’ll just move forward) :)

We had a super busy and fun Saturday. We started out the morning at the library for a special Lego Star Wars event. They had crafts, people dressed up in costume, lots of legos to play with, and the “Noise guy” to perform. I thought it was just going to be like story time but I was so wrong! The librarian told us they were expecting over 200 people! It was mostly fun for Rowan and Russ, since I spent most of it chasing Isla around while she tried to pull all the books off the shelf.

We went straight from there to Jubilee Farms pumpkin patch. Our third annual trip. I really love this farm. I know a lot of people talk about so many of the other farms in our area, and I would definitely love to check all of that out, but for now, Jubilee is perfect. Especially for our little ones. Plenty to do!

We were starving and so the first thing we did when we got there was grab some lunch. Every year we get these quesadillas loaded with fresh off the farm grilled veggies: beets, kale, etc.. AMAZING! Picture doesn’t do it justice. Usually Rowan is all about eating but when he saw the tractor ride, it’s all he could talk about.

There was quite a few falls too since there are pumpkin vines and pot holes everywhere! I was glad we all got some new boots to wear, and Isla actually did better than I thought she would, walking in them. Hard to believe that when we went last year, she was so tiny, and just slept bundled up in the ergo the entire time!

We were exhausted when we got home, and the kids passed right out. Andrea and Justin came over to hangout about 30 minutes after the kids went to bed. Such a fun day! Now we just have to find time to carve our pumpkin!
