Rowan has finally discovered the magical world of pirates. He loves to pretend to be a pirate even though he says they are “VERY SCARY!”

These photos were actually from Mother’s Day. Unfortunately I didn’t really get too many more. I remember these little photo shoots with Rowan. Now he will barely let me take any pictures of him. So sad! :)

Syttende Mai 2013

Yesterday was Norwegian Independence day and we went to Ballard last night to celebrate and watch the parade, as we do every year! I told Rowan about it before we went and all day he was running around the house yelling, “VIKING POWER!!” haha! Our friends, the Kemper’s met us there. It was Isla’s first parade and I wish I could have found the Norwegian flag onesie Rowan wore at her age. We were worried it would rain, and although there was a light sprinkle, it was mostly perfect, sunny weather!

Russ wore his special shirt and was the talk of the evening, ha. A lot of people taking his picture and wanting to know where he got it. I should totally make some and sell them next year, but I’m sure I’d have to have a license. Drinking his first ‘Solo,’ a yummy orange soda from Norway.     Isla was so entranced by Russ’ Viking hat. She kept laughing and trying to touch it. Reagan and Merritt. Merritt is only 3 days older than Isla.   Ensley & Brighton watching the parade.  I put the headphones on Isla to help with the noise of the cannon at the end. She didn’t wear them long but I had to snap a pic since they’re so cute!  

Isla is 9 months old!

The 9 month picture is the hardest one to get so far with this girl! It was the same with Rowan.. I totally remember! She is crawling and pulling up non-stop which is fun, but she’s not as easy to pose. ;-) I seriously think she partly learned to crawl just so she could get away from Rowan. ha! I decided to post a bunch of pics, just so you can see how hard it was!

Isla’s 9 month checkup went great. She is healthy and growing. She did drop off her own weight curve a bit, and the doc said we should add olive oil and coconut oil to her food, but isn’t worried. Rowan did the same when he became so active. Here are the stats:

Weight: 18 lb 4 oz – 50th Percentile (Rowan was 19 lb 5.5 oz)

Height: 29 inches- 95th Percentile (Rowan was 29 1/2 inches)

Here’s a side by side of both Isla and Rowan at the same age. A lot of people say they look exactly the same, but I really see a lot of differences! ( You can already see the crazy look in Rowan’s eyes at this age, lol)
